Myth: Everyone who volunteers at the food bank is rich and just wants to see that they’re better off than us.
Truth: We are all from different cultural backgrounds, but we’re sharing our resources with our neighbours. We have seen and suffered through the government’s austerity measures and the effects of Brexit and the Pandemic. A lot of the volunteers who you see today also needed help at the beginning of The Kitchen, which opened as an emergency response to the pandemic.
